Retreats and Workshops
Yoga/Creativity/and the Outdoors

Clay Meditations

These workshops focus on finding one's way with clay using handbuilding techniques. Participants will access their own intuitive process with the point of enjoying the moment to moment feel of the clay, and not on a set goal of a finished product. Any finished pieces, we will either raku fire, or decorate them for high firing.
Two yoga classes are included each day, and depending on the weather, a seasonal outdoor activity will be available.

Outdoor activities include:

XC skiing, snowshoeing, skating, sledding in the winter
Hiking, year round
Kayaking, canoeing, and swimming in the summer

Indoors:

University of Maine in Machias sports the Center for Lifelong Learning with a public Olympic size pool and fitness center.

Local bodyworkers available by appointment as well as a nearby spa, Petite Retreat, which has a sauna and hot tub.

River Meets the Sea is located on 5 acres overlooking a wildlife sanctuary and the East Machias River. The large house has 2 and 1/2 baths, and dormitory style sleeping arrangements, as well as a communal kitchen.

Link to local B and B's include the nearby Riverside Inn and Restaurant, a captivating spot with a view of the tidal East Machias River and featuring healthy and hearty meals. Other Restaurants include the Artist's Café in Machias and the local health food store, The Whole Life Market.

Dance Classes

Shake Your Soul is a creative movement class where there is no specific dance technique, but a way of blending mind and spirit by touching your own creativity. I bring in world music that has very positive messages, and we move through a series that warm you up and then more lively music that will give you a great aerobic workout. I am very exicited about it and feel I have a gift to give my community. It is fun and joyfull and every cell in your body will feel happy at the end. Great for both men and women, and teens over 15. Come and give it a try, drop ins welcome, just call ahead to make arrangements. You'll find that it is exactly what you need.
